Out to Tea is the name of the tea party we hold each month for the older members of the community in which we live. It was one of the very first outreaches of the church and birthed in the desire to give our guests a really lovely Jesus-flavoured afternoon out, with a great tea, some entertainment and lots of interaction. We knew through contacts and family members that for some the weekend loomed long and lonely and so it was decided to hold our tea party on a Saturday making at least one weekend something very different. Times have not changed. We still seek to bless and be a blessing but as anybody who helps on the team will tell you, we think it's actually our guests who bless us. We have so much fun listening to their stories (which make our lives look positively dull!), joining in the entertainment with them and feel so privileged to share our opening 'God spot' and times of private prayer when asked. If your idea of the older community is a whole load of switched off 'old dears' sitting round doing nothing then you need to come to Out to Tea to find out the truth! Some of our guests may not be as nimble as they once were but they are precious and fun and we love to be with them.
So if you know anybody who might like to join us at Woodmancote in Crowthorne on a Saturday afternoon, then please see the calendar for dates and times, and if you belong to a local church and would like to come and join our team please contact the Vineyard Church Centre.
