A fun, free and friendly Mother and Toddler group with music, craft, stories, lots of toys and plenty of yummy, healthy snacks. It runs from 10am – 12noon and ALL are welcome.
When and where?
Over the past seven years Vineyard Little Steps has run in Sandhurst, Bracknell, Yateley and Owlsmoor.
We believe that God wants to take Little Steps forward in a different way; we have therefore stopped running Little Steps in its current format, whilst we seek the Lord to ask Him where He wants it to go from here.
So what goes on at Little Steps?
Fun! The coffee is hot and ready by 10am and everyone is welcome. Lots of toys for the children to play with, a craft table and a great toddler music time with lots of action songs and songs with instruments so everyone can get involved. We have so many favourite songs but currently high in the Little Steps Chart are ‘The Stretchy Lycra Song’ (no, thankfully it doesn't mean to have to wear it!), ‘The Yellow Elephant’ and ‘Great Big God’.
Being Vineyard Church, there’s lots of coffee, tea, juice, cakes and biscuits available, with cheese and fruit for a healthy option - much needed after all that exercise. While the kids play or get ‘stuck in’ to the craft table, the adults can relax in the café style area and have a chance to chat and make new friends.
We also run a ‘Storehouse’
If you have been to Little Steps before you will have noticed a selection of large plastic boxes containing babies and children’s clothes, toys and books. We know that bringing up children is a costly venture and from time to time some of us struggle to meet all the bills, particularly lone parents or those out of work. People donate nearly new clothing, baby equipment and items of furniture which we give away to anyone who needs them. A selection of these items is brought along to each Little Steps morning but larger items are sometimes available, depending on what we have been given, and these are stored at the ‘Storehouse’ (which is actually a shed in Tracy’s garden!). If you let us know what you need, we will try our best to find it for you.
How did it all start?
In 2003 Nino (our pastor) challenged the home groups to undertake some sort of community project, and gave us £100 to kick-start it. My home group decided we would make and deliver hampers to some families in the Finchampstead area who had had a difficult year for whatever reason. We delivered ten hampers in the area and after Christmas decided we would like to do something else to get to know these families.
We thought we could invite them over for coffee. As we chatted more the idea of a coffee morning turned into a Mother and Toddler group. We ran the first one in Finchampstead and Little Steps has grown from there.”

How does it all run?
Little Steps is funded and run by the Vineyard Church to be a blessing to young families all around our community. Each Little Steps is staffed by a team of volunteers.
Can I Get involved?
Yes, Yes Yes!!! We would love more people to be involved. Also if you have any nearly new babies or children’s clothes or baby equipment you would like to give to the Little Steps’ Storehouse, please contact Tracy Hooper.
